Catherine originally studied French and Russian at Manchester University, before joining the Welsh Office as an Executive Officer where she spent three years working in the Planning Division and the Further and Higher Education Division. She then went on to train for ministry at St Michael’s College and was ordained at Llandaff Cathedral in 1996.

Catherine served two curacies in Llandaff Diocese, before becoming Incumbent of the Irfon Valley and Blaenau Irfon parishes in Swansea and Brecon Diocese. Following two years as Chaplain to the Haberdashers’ Monmouth School for Girls, she worked in the Monmouth Ministry Area as community engagement priest.

As well as parish work, Catherine has been Diocesan Children’s Advisor in both Llandaff and Monmouth; Diocesan Director of Education in Swansea and Brecon; and a member of Governing Body. She serves on the Liturgical Commission for the Church in Wales, the Joint Liturgical Group of Great Britain (including the Churches Funerals Group and the English Language Liturgical Committee), and the International Anglican Liturgical Consultation.

In her spare time, Catherine is an ATC Chaplain and Chaplain to both the Sea Cadets and the Royal Naval Association. She is also a governor at her local Comprehensive School. She relaxes by reading, studying and walking with friends and their dogs.
