‘Formation in Community for Mission’
St Padarn’s is the training arm of the Church in Wales, but as our mission statement states we offer much more than training for ministry. Our focus is on learning and formation but we also focus on:
We nurture Dicipleship through our development work with Children Youth and Families and Pioneer Ministry, creating key networks of people in order to train specialists in both fields. Thes result of which is encouraging new and different ways of doing / experiencing Church.
We also produce resources for communities, families and bible groups such as Jesus Shaped Life and Living and Learning. If yo wish to explore Theology and deepen your faith you may also study Theology for Life .
Formation for Licensed Ministry, NLM training and Minsterial Development
If you are training for Ministry after going through the discernment process, you will start your training through studying the BTh for Discipleship, Ministry and Mission (Theology for Life) and experience all aspects of learning, worship, community and spiritual development.
Once ordained as a minister you will be able to access further training through our NLM training programme.
Once an experienced minister you will access further personal development training through Ministerial Development programme that encourages personal learning as well as spiritual development.
Specialist Training Courses
Safeguarding, Keeping People Safe and Beginning Chaplaincy
Both Safeguarding training and Keeping People Safe (Health and Safety Course) are open to all clergy and those who work for a church. Beginning Chaplaincy is a specialist course for Chaplains new to their NHS post. The aim of the course bis to further develop an understanding of the role further.
We offer offer a number of MTh courses in Theology, Chaplaincy Studies (Currently MOD, Health, Community and Sports) and Children Youth and Families.
Our hope is to be an integral part of building a strong community to grow our Christian mission, through the formation of ministers, nurturing discipleship and to develop the next generation of Welsh Theological specialists.
