Listening Days

Our focus in 2017-2018 is on listening, giving current licensed ministers the opportunity to share their experience of the realities of ministry and resourcing needs and to contribute to the collaborative development of a strategy for continuing ministerial development to be launched in Autumn 2018.

The current CMD team is engaged in a research project called ‘Tyfu’, which aims to understand what kind of CMD will enable the flourishing of licensed ministers in Wales. Following our initial conversations, we recognised the need for a broader consultation with all in licensed ministry which would give permission for ministers to be honest and vulnerable about their experience and resourcing needs, and so embarked on running 24 listening days across Wales in early 2018.

Thank You

Thank you to all those who took part in our series of Provincial Listening days in January and February this year- it was so wonderful to be able to share in the process of listening with so many of you, and to work together in the collaborative development of a strategy for continuing ministerial development.

By listening deeply to God, to the realities of ministry and to one another, we have begun to establish a coalition for change and to enable ministers to take responsibility for their own learning and development.

Next Step

The next stage of this listening process is two seminar days we are running in March.

Tuesday 20th March 10am-4pm at St Michaels Centre, Llandaff

Thursday 22nd March 10-4pm at Gregynog Hall, Newtown

If you attended a listening day and would like to join us again to explore the initial findings of the research and participate in a discussion and ongoing process of reflection and review of provincial CMD strategy, please book a place on one of the days by emailing

We will also be sending out a short report to listening day attendees on our findings and plans for the next stage of research.

Any questions regarding this please get in touch with us, we would be very happy to have a chat with you about any aspect of the research project-
