But as well as our general responsibility to equip and empower the universal church, St Padarn’s has a specific responsibility for the training and development of those who are licensed or have been selected for licensing in the area of Youth, Children and Family ministry within the Church of Wales. It delivers it’s mandate for this in several ways:
- Provides a place of training with specific Youth and Children’s Ministry support for those selected by their bishops.
- Works with Bishop’s advisors to provide training events to equip and empower children young people and family workers across the province. Details of upcoming training can be found here. We also seek to promote awareness of the need for more children, youth and family workers and actively recruit in that area.
- Provides specialised training for all those training within all areas of the Church of Wales (for lay or ordained ministry) in how to work within the areas of children, young people and families.
Mark Griffiths oversees the areas of children, young people and family development under the leadership of Revd Professor Jeremy Duff the Principal of St Padarn’s.
